How can we develop a community of writers inside our classrooms? What characteristics exist in a classroom that has created a community of writers? What are some specific ideas and techniques we can employ to create a community of writers in our classrooms that are engaging, meaningful and useful in our students' lives?
Honestly I think there is a very simple response to these questions. Share, share, share. You could witness it through our own 4790 class. The more we started writing the more we started commenting on each others post or what they read out loud. Creative writing in the classroom produces a reflection of the writer and their life experience. Encouraging children to write and share their work builds a class of writers and thinkers.
